It’s Friday and I’m officially sick of working and ready to start the weekend. And so you get this. Ladies and gentlemen I give you the Wilhelm Scream. If you’re a film lover/nerd like myself, you might recognize this infamous scream and realize you’ve heard it more than once before. (You probably didn’t know there was actually a name for it.)

First recorded in 1951, and later made famous by a character named Private Wilhelm in the 1953 film The Charge at Feather River, the Wilhelm Scream has been used in every Star Wars film (including the latest one), Indiana Jones movies and about 200 others – a little game directors like to play by inserting this little easter egg gem into their films to see if anyone notices. We do. Here’s a short compilation created some years ago, so you know there are more out there – keep your ears peeled. Enjoy and Happy Friday!
