Bookstore Spotlight – Diesel Bookstore

Known for its fascinating selection of titles, stunning author events, enthusiastically diverse staff, and urban California aesthetic, DIESEL is ‘the cutting-edge, high-octane, community-radiating, independent neighborhood bookstore we all dream of hanging out in, getting imaginally turned on in, and literarily inspired by.’

Author events have included David Sedaris, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Camille Paglia, Michael Krasny, David Byrne, Paul Theroux, Michael Moore, James Ellroy and more. Most recently Annie Leibovitz was in the house (Oakland) Monday afternoon giving a generous reading and candid Q&A to a packed house.

They have stores in Malibu, Brentwood and Oakland, CA where you can pick up a copy of my book Free Love – True Stories of Love and Lust on the Internet and a FREE Occupy Amazon button or coaster. Sweet.

Hey thanks for the information Thomas!
I was looking for a decent enough bookstore just to find relevant books in Oakland. These days in bookstores don’t put relevant books in their prior categories which most of the times pisses me off. Diesel Book Store is very good when your looking for relevant material to what you are looking for.
