Nerve.com provides original stories, features and photography, coverage of the best films, television, books and music in pop culture, and is dedicated to all things smart, sexy, culturally important, and entertaining. And now it seems to be launching a new online dating destination for young, urban trend setters: NERVE DATING.
The site is still in its beta stage but it promises to be a place for smart, interesting people to meet. Over the years, Nerve has amassed a huge audience of readers who want to meet people as creative as they are. But until now, music fans, literary buffs, movie lovers, artists, geeks, writers and inspired people of every stripe didn’t have a site that made meeting each other as easy and entertaining as it should be. Nerve Dating will be that place.
It’s basically targeting its own user base with like-minded sensibilities and shared interests so you can start conversations easily about things that actually interest you and meet people you actually want to talk to.
Which isn’t a bad idea actually, but I’m wondering how it’s going to be regulated. How do you prove when registering that you are indeed a smart, interesting person? And isn’t that all rather subjective anyway? If you don’t know the Five Albums You Should Be Listening To Right Now, Reasons Why Daria Should Come Back Instead of Beavis and Butthead, or Five Bands Named After Smiths Songs in Order of Smithiness, does your profile automatically get rejected?
I guess time will tell, but for now I think once it’s fully launched Nerve Dating is worth checking out. Go on, you know you want to. All the cool people are doing it.
