Happy B-Day Dot Com

Today marks the 25th anniversary of the .com domain. Symbolics.com was the very first domain to be registered as a .com address on March 15, 1985.  Today there are now 80 million .com web sites, including 11.9 million e-commerce and online business sites, 1.8 million sports-related sites, and 4.3 million entertainment web sites, according to PCMag.com.

The Internet itself has been around for 40 years now (thanks Al!) and is truly one of the greatest innovations of the twentieth century. It has completely changed the way we live, work, communicate and interact with others. More and more people are using it all the time to meet others, make new friends, find love and/or otherwise hook up in today’s increasingly high-tech, wired world.

You can celebrate the occasion while reading all about it in my book FREE LOVE – True Stories of Love and Lust on the Internet.
